Biographical / Historical
Created in 1857, The City Controller's Office is the "fiscal watchdog" for all City funds. Along with many other fiscal responsibilities, the Controller's Office performs audits of all City departments and authorities and ensures that City tax dollars are spent effectively and appropriately. The office is a four-year independently elected term, and there are no term limits.
