Biographical / Historical

The Sanborn Map Company published fire insurance maps during the 19th and 20th centuries depicting hundreds of municipalities throughout the country. The maps include a variety of information about specific properties and buildings including use, size, shape, house and block number, the existence of fire suppression systems, and more. Between new editiions, subscribers had the option to order updates or correction sheets to be glued onto the maps as needed.
