From the Collection:

The Allegheny City Records, 1842-1907 [bulk 1870-1907], contain both bound volumes and loose-paper ordinances, resolutions, communications, petitions, and reports. The collection is chronologically arranged into nine series and four sub-series.

Topics covered within the records range from legislation, petitions, or communications regarding city business surrounding Allegheny City. Particular topics of interest include legislation discussing presidential visits to Allegheny City, aid relief given to Johnstown Flood victims, and the naming of a planet, "Alleghenia," after the city.
